Located 12 km south of Winnipeg Mb along the Red River. The aptly named Slow River Gardens is run by Chad Wiens who grew up on this same land where his parents Wilma & Dan Wiens operated the 'Wiens Shared Farm' for 3 decades. Slow River Gardens grows vegetables, herbs and flowers using ecological and low-till practices. Slow River Gardens was founded in 2021.

We grow vegetables in an ecologically-minded way. Based on the understanding that soil is alive we grow with low-till methods and utilize compost and cover crops to ensure a healthy and functioning soil food web.
